Additionally, applicants must be emotionally stable, of good moral character, have basic orientation and mobility skills, and be willing to care for and use the dog in the intended manner. Individuals with a high degree of residual vision may qualify for the program but must be able to trust the Leader Dog and allow it to do guide work. Leader Dogs for the Blind is supported by the internationally known service organization, The Lions Club, as well as other individuals, foundations, and corporations that believe in our work.
