Payment for Services and Fee Schedule

This policy will be reviewed and updated as needed.

PURPOSE

To provide guidelines for determining relative costs for services provided through the Division of Blind Services (DBS).

34 CFR 361.50 (c)

POLICY

DBS has established a fee schedule designed to ensure a reasonable cost to the program for each service.  Fee codes are subject to change.  Any changes to the fee schedule will be annotated in the Division’s customer service system and policies by the State Office.   The fee schedule may not be used to deny any individual a necessary service.  DBS may not place absolute dollar limits on specific service categories or on the total services provided to an individual.

Medicare fee codes are to be used for the provision of medical services for consumers.

Rates for services provided by non-contract providers will be as follows but can be negotiated, either up or down and will need the approval of the Bureau Chief of Client Services.

Rehabilitation Teaching$58.00 per hour
Assistive Technology Training$58.00 per hour

Training refers to instruction on how to use equipment, it does not refer to trouble shooting, scripting, cleaning up viruses, or any other rehabilitation engineering task, etc. 

Rehabilitation Engineering Services:  $75.00 per hour

Job Placement Services purchased by way of client services authorizations will be paid at the following rates:

Hourly rates include travel.  Therefore vendor will provide an invoice showing the number of hours door to door and stating how much of that time was designated to direct training.
