All Ages Summer Reading Spotlight 2023
Runs now through August 31.
New This Year
Everyone who registers is entered. Try to read as many books as you can. Top readers can earn an incentive including tote bags, water bottles, or other fun items! A special bonus: we count the books for you! NO other action is needed.
To Register
Email your name or your child’s name, age, and patron number to reading@dbs.fldoe.org.
Start reading! Any book you like will count. Try themes like the ocean, summer, gardening, baseball, the outdoors, or try new recipes in a cookbook!

Pledge to Read During the School Year
- Read at least 20-30 minutes a day outside of school.
- Talk about new books and get excited about trying new subjects and authors.
Teens/Adults Book Goals
- Read a different genre than you are used to.
- Read a book written in the year you were born.
- A book set in a country you would like to visit.
- A Pulitzer Prize or any prize-winning book
