Motion made by made by Mark Turner to accept the agenda.  Second by Kurt Ponchak

3:15 PM       Address the Budget for Biennial Seminar 2025
Jose Quintanilla, Biennial Planning Subcommittee Chair, is asking for $30,000 to pay for speakers the Biennial Seminar. 

Two speakers have been identified:  Trish Waechter at $10,000 plus $1,500 for travel expenses and Frank Kitchen at $12,500 plus $1,500 for travel expenses.  An additional $4,500 will be reserved for local speakers if needed. 

Ponchak made a motion to approve a budget of $30,000 for speakers to be spread over two fiscal years.  Seconded by Sead Bekric. 

The two speakers for this year are less than the single speaker we contracted for the 2023 Biennial.  There is money in the budget to do this.  The subcommittee is using the speakers exchange from NABM.  The subcommittee considered 6-10 different speakers in the process. 

Quintanilla called the question.  Vote:

District 2 - no
District 3 - yes
District 5 - yes
District 7 - yes
District 8 - yes
District 9 - yes
Vice Chair - yes
Chair - yes

Budget passes with 7 to 1 vote. 

A motion was made to amend the agenda to include a vote on the speakers. Second, by Kurt Ponchak.

A motion was made to contract with Frank Kitchen and Trisa Waechter plus an additional $4,500 for local speakers if necessary.

Motion passed 7 to 1.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Kurt Ponchak.  Second by Mark Turner
