Summer reading 2022 theme banner, oceans of possibilities. Image is of an older man sitting in a chair reading a book.

Do I have to read all the books in the list, in a certain order?

You can read any of the books from the lists in any order, or amount. You can also email me for suggestions if you would like to read off topic. The idea is to also explore the vast ocean of possibilities of ideas and new adventures the library has to offer.

None of these books work for me, what can I do?

We hope you will enjoy these titles in the theme, but if you need more suggestions, just email in and we will help you out! It’s not as important what, where, or how you read, by audio or braille, but the fact that you read ANYTHING is the most important thing.

If I do more activities, will I get more entries?

Yes! Each activity counts as one entry in the drawing.

Do I have to be in the pictures?

Not at all! You can hide your face, or, just take a picture of the item you make. If you take a picture that includes someone else, have them sign a release form so we can share it on our website in

Does everyone in the photo need a release? They told me it’s ok.

Yes, we do need one from everyone in the picture if you want us to be able to share it online on our website, or in our newsletter, or anywhere else on DBS’ social media. We would like to share book reviews online also, and if you want to have your name associated with it, we need the release.

I don’t want to sign the release. Can I still participate?

YES! Absolutely! We will respect your privacy and not share your pictures.
